----------------Registration and
Admission Procedure----------------
- Admission is open to all irrespective of class,
creed and community.
-
Admission is ordinarily given to children of age
3+ to
Playgroup; as on 1st April of the year of admission.
- A child's name will not be registered for admission
unless the following information is provided by the
parent:
- The birth registration certificate in
ORIGINAL should be submitted for verification. No
change of date of birth will be
permitted later under any circumstances.
- The latest progress report must be
submitted, if the child has been attending any
recognized school.
- After the above requirements are
completed to the entire satisfaction of the Principal, the child's name will be registered for
the session ON THE WAITING LIST for the class
applied for by the parent on payment of Rs.500/- as
registration fee.
- The Registration fee of Rs.500/- per
child is neither refundable nor transferable.
- The registration of a child's name on the waiting
list does not carry any guarantee of admission:
- Admission from Class Playgroup to Class 9th. is subject to vacancies in that particular
class.
- Admission will be granted at the sole
discretion of the school authorities.
- The school rules are subject to change
at the discretion of the school authorities. The
admission of a child will mean a complete acceptance
by the parent/guardian of all school rules as in
force or as amended from time to time.
- Before the child is accepted for
admission, a Transfer Certificate from his previous
school, if he has attended one, must be submitted to
the school.
- The school reserves the right to refuse
admission/re-admission without assigning any reason
- Admission to Class XI will be
considered as fresh and the Principal
reserves the right of admission.
----------------Withdrawals----------------
- A clear calendar month's notice in writing, or a
term's fee in lieu of notice, should be given before a
pupil can be withdrawn.
- The Principal can, in the interest of
the school, have a student removed from the school for
the following reasons:
- Where, in his opinion, the student has failed to
conform to the discipline of the school and his/her
continued presence may be detrimental to the
interest of the other students.
- Where the student fails to come up to the
required academic standard expected of him/her. This
would be in the interest of the student so that
he/she may join a school more suitable to him/her.

NOTE:
a) Extra Fee of Rs. 600/- per quarter will be
charged from students of classes IX, X, XI & XII who opt
Computer Science.
b) Registration, Admission, Tuition and other fees once
charged are neither refundable nor adjustable.
----------------Mode of
Payment----------------
- All payments should be made at Standard Chartered
Bank, The Mall, Kanpur, in favour of Sheiling House
School Society, Kanpur as per instructions in the bill
book.
- Fees will be charged for twelve months a year,
payable in advance for every three months before the
last day of the first month of the quarter. Fees for the
whole quarter is payable in case a student is withdrawn
in the mid-term.
- The dates for the payment of fee will be as follows.

In case of non-payment of prescribed fees within the
time fixed above, a fine of Rs. 25/- will be charged per
week for the late payment of fees to the maximum of four
weeks. If the fees remain unpaid beyond four weeks, the
name of the student will be struck off the
rolls and the student may be readmitted at the
discretion of the Principal on payment of
all arrears and fresh admission fee of Rs. 1,000/-.
- The date of presentation of the cheques/drafts/cash
will be treated as date of payment provided the cheque
is not dishonored.
- If any collection charges are levied, the same would
be payable by the parent/guardian.
- All cheques returned by the Bank will be treated
under the category of nonpayment of fees and the
returning charges as charged by the bank will be payable
by the parents.
- A clear calendar month's notice in writing or a
term's fee in lieu of notice must be given before a
pupil can be withdrawn. However, if the student is asked
by the school to leave, no notice fee for a month is
required. No claim of refund will be entertained for
fees already paid under clause (2) above.
- Transfer Certificate on withdrawal is issued only
after all dues to the school have been cleared.
- No reduction in any fees will be made for
continued absence on any ground.
- Duplicate Transfer Certificates are not issued.
----------------Promotion
Criteria----------------
- The Promotion of a child does not depend on the
result of a single annual examination.
The school has a system of continuous evaluation. To
qualify for promotion a child must fulfill the following
conditions:
- If a child fails in English or any two optional
subjects, he will not qualify for promotion. The
pass percentage in each subject as well as in
aggregate is 40%.
- Any student who falls short of 75% attendance
will not be eligible for taking promotional
examinations.

- Should a child fail to qualify for promotion for
two consecutive years he will be required to be
withdrawn from the school.
- Disciplinary action will be taken against any
child who is found to have used unfair means in the
periodic tests and Annual Examination and should the
child concerned continue the offence he/she will be
required to be withdrawn.
- Any boy or girl who becomes two years above the
average age of the class on account of his/her not
qualifying for promotion, shall be asked to be
withdrawn from the school.
- No appeals by the parents for undeserving
promotion will be entertained.
----------------General
Rules----------------
- Vacations: There are two vacations. Summer of
approximately 6 weeks and Winter of 2 weeks. Notice of
the actual dates of vacations are intimated to the
parents/guardians through the school diary.
- All pupils should attend classes from the opening
day, after each of the vacations. Absence without
leave application and non-payment of fees till the end
of July or January, after the Summer or Winter Vacation
respectively, will lead to the removal of the pupil's
name from the school rolls.
- Verbal assurance: No verbal assurance given by any
member of the staff, will be accepted as binding on the
school. Similarly, no verbal statements made by parents
will be accepted. Parents must always write to the
school on any point they wish to raise or make.
- Suggestions or complaints if any should be made in
writing to the Director/Principal confidentially.
- While communicating with the school, the parents
should mention in their letters the full name, class and
section of their wards. Change in address or telephone
number, if any, must be intimated as early as possible.
- Parents are requested not to tip the school
servants.
- No contributions or fines are demanded verbally from
the pupils. If noted in the school diary, the signature
of acknowledgement must be checked the same day.
- Late comers will not be admitted to the class
without the signature of the Principal/Headmistress in
the school diary.
- Parents or guardians should see that all school
assignments are completed and home work given in the
school diary is attended to. The remarks in the school
diary by the teachers or Principal must be signed by the
parents.
- Strict regularity and punctuality, implicit
obedience, courtesy in word and deed, cleanliness of
dress and person, proper care of books and school
property are expected from every pupil. Pupils and
parents must strictly conform to the instructions, rules
and regulations laid down in this regard.
- Damage done to the School Property must be made
good. Fines may be imposed by the Principal
for breach of discipline or rules and regulations or
loss of and damage age to school property.
- The wearing of the school uniform is obligatory.
Wearing of jewellery or bringing of expensive articles
or money to the school is strictly prohibited and the
school will not be responsible for their loss.
- Pupils are responsible to the school authorities not
only for their conduct in the school but also for their
general behavior outside. Any report of objectionable
conduct on the part of any pupil will make him/her
liable for disciplinary action.
- Presents to the members of the staff are not allowed
in any form.
- Buying of sweets, chat, ice-cream etc. from hawkers
on the street outside the school premises is strictly
forbidden.
- No pupil suffering from any contagious or infectious
disease shall be permitted to attend school till he/she
brings a Medical Certificate of fitness.
- Irregular attendance, constant negligence of work,
insubordination to teachers, habitual inattentiveness in
class, obscenity in word or deed, willful and repeated
breach of the school regulations severally or
collectively, will lead a pupil to serious punishment
or expulsion.
- Scribbling on the walls, desks and boards, as well
as tearing of pages from exercise books or school diary
are punishable.
- Every student, when called upon to attend extra
classes or to take part in other activities of the
school must compulsorily participate.
